Chicago, Illinois, March 23, 2007 - Association Laboratory Inc. announced today that Dean A. West, President and Founder of Association Laboratory Inc. has been named a Fellow of the American Society of Association Executives.

"It is always an honor to be recognized by my peers", said Mr. West. "In addition, I see this appointment as a call to continued service to the profession and I’m looking forward to participating in conversations to improve the quality of association management as a profession and the ability of associations to serve their members."

ASAE is the membership organization and voice of the association profession. Mr. West joins 11 other individuals selected for the ASAE Fellows Program. The Fellows program recognizes individual accomplishments and contributions to ASAE & The Center and the association community, and is a call to service for the profession. The 2007 Fellows join a select group of approximately 200 association professionals to receive this designation since the program’s inception in 1986.

The Fellows selection process includes nomination by a peer; an in-depth application describing the individual’s innovation, leadership and commitment to the profession; an interview with a member of the selection committee; and ultimately selection from among a group of highly-qualified candidates.

Dean West has been an association executive since 1987 and has served in a variety of chief staff and senior executive functions. His volunteer experience includes service as ASAE’s Chairman of the Professional Development Council and as a member of the Board of Directors for the Association Forum of Chicagoland.
